Jazz at the Library: Join us for a celebration of Jazz!

Saturday, January 25

1:30 pm-  Award-winning guitarist and music educator, Terrence Brewer, will present an interactive, hands-on program that illustrates the birth and evolution of blues and jazz through over 200 years of American history.

3:00 pm -  Live Jazz music by the Jazz duo 6 Roses

Light refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Tie Dye for Youth

Transform white cloth into rich colors. Linda from Peopleologie will show you how using natural dyes. Expect squishing, submerging, and stirring.  All materials provided.

Stress Relief Workshop

Accumulation of stress in daily life can lead to many harmful consequences for the body and mind. This introductory workshop will highlight philosophies and practices from traditional Chinese medicine, medical Qigong and applied kinesiology to equip participants with stress-relief techniques and energy-boosting exercises that are easy to do, safe, and healthy. There will also be a bonus guided meditation breathing technique that will be taught at the end of the lecture.

Presenter, Junia Chou, is an International Kinesiology College (IKC) certified Touch for Health practitioner, and a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She is currently a lecturer for the "Natural and Spiritual Healing" seminar series at Purple Lotus University, and a Buddhism and Meditation teacher at a K-12 private boarding school.

Mighty Ugly Craft Challenge

Take the Mighty Ugly Craft Challenge to make a creature that is not cute-ugly but ugly-ugly. Craft materials will be supplied, but feel free to bring anything you would want to work with.

For kids ages 6 and thru 18.
