SF Shakespeare Festival ~ Romeo and Juliet

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival presents Romeo and Juliet. This one hour version of Shakespeare's masterpiece is a great introduction to the Bard's work and to theater in general. A question and answer session with the actors will follow the production.

Happy 200th Birthday Edgar Allan Poe!

January 19th marks the 200th birthday of author and poet, Edgar Allan Poe. What better way of celebrating his birthday by revisiting The Raven, Fall of the House of Usher or the Black Cat.

On these chilly, dark winter nights, curling up with a warm beverage and Poe sounds like a great way to pass an evening. Here are some titles you can request from the library:

The San Francisco Public Library System will be closed on January 19, 2009 in observance of Martin Luther King's birthday. All locations will be closed and will reopen on January 20th.
