This program will integrate Mexican folk dance and creative movement. Children will have the opportunity to dress in costume and learn about the history, culture, and dances from different regions of Mexico. Dances will include structured foot work and partner dancing.

In this critically acclaimed film, directed by Elia Kazan, Marlon Brando plays a former boxer who reaches a crisis of conscience after aiding in the murder of a coworker on the corruption-ridden New York City docks. On the Waterfront won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Eva Marie Saint.

LED Robot Plushie Workshop + Little Brother Book Discussion

Learn how to light-up your craft projects with Amelia Strader, owner and founder of mobile crafting workshop GoGo Craft. She will take you step-by-step through the process of making and then adding LEDs to this adorable robot plushie. Materials included.
While you craft, you can chat about SFPL’s One City One Book - Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, which features teens using technology for fun, a little mayhem, and to defend civil rights.

This will be a storytime all about transportation!

Join the world's largest celebration of reading! Each year, we help set a new world record for the most children reading the same book with a caregiver on the same day. This year on October 3, 2013, millions of children will read Otis by Loren Long.
