Summer Reading!

With summer upon us, it is once again time for the San Francisco Public Libraries annual Summer Reading Program! The program begins on June 1st and runs thru August 11th. It is for all ages with different levels of reading and prizes for each group. You can sign up at the library or online at : sfpl.org/summerread
Adults who complete 40 hours of reading will visit the library to choose a Summer Reading prize – their choice of a book or a single De Young Museum pass.

All adults who read 40 hours also get one virtual raffle entry for a chance to win a Family or Individual membership for the California Academy of Sciences, the Exploratorium, the De Young Museum, or the Zoo. And you will be eligible for a chance to win a $500 gift card for Chronicle Books to be raffled off on August 18 at Sunday Streets next to the Main Library.

Teens who complete 30 hours will visit the library to choose a Summer Reading Prize – their choice of a book or a pair of tickets to an attraction.

All teens (ages 13- 18)  who read 30 hours also get one virtual raffle entry for a chance to win a one-year membership for the California Academy of Sciences, the Exploratorium, the De Young Museum, or the Zoo. And, you will be eligible for a chance to win a $500 gift card for Chronicle Books to be raffled off on August 18 at Sunday Streets by the Main Library.

In addition, all teens who read 30 hours and submit 5 book reviews will be eligible for a chance to win a $5000 scholarship from Supervisor Mark Farrell.

All children (ages birth-12) who read for 10 hours will visit the library to choose a Summer Reading Prize– their choice of a book or a pair of tickets to an attraction.

All children who read 10 hours also get one virtual raffle entry for a chance to win a one-year Family membership for the California Academy of Sciences, the Exploratorium, the De Young Museum, or the Zoo. Additionally, you will be eligible for a chance to win a $500 gift card for Chronicle Books to be raffled off on August 18 at Sunday Streets by the Main Library.

The tickets to attractions that the Teens and Children can win are: Aquarium of the Bay, Bay Area Discovery Museum, CA Academy of Sciences, Children’s Creativity Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Exploratorium, De Young, Japanese Tea Garden, Presidio Bowl, Pump it Up, Ripleys’ Believe it or Not, SF Giants, SF Jazz Center, SF Zoo and Walt Disney Museum.
