Set in Paris in the late 19th century, this movie depicts the life of
artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Noted for its color cinematography,
Director John Huston wanted the film to look as if it had been directed
by Toulouse-Lautrec. Huston and the film's star, José Ferrer, were
nominated for Academy Awards. Marcel Vertès won two Oscars for his work
on the movie: Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction.
